Well established Suffolk printer Fuller-Davies, entered the digital league recently with the installation of aXerox 700 & printed items new Xerox 700, purchased through Mayday Graphic Products into their Ipswich based Printing & Mailing facility - find out more - secondhand 700's now available.

The green printer already boasts FSC & PEFC accreditation as well as ISO: 14001. They believe strongly in environmentally friendly printing & print buying and the digital press now gives them capability to print exactly the quantity the customer requires while keeping waste to a minimum.

In 2008 Fuller-Davies invested in a new Heidelberg B2 5 colour press and a Mailing Line. The company then went through an MBO with Neil Stones & James Robinson buying out the exiting MD Kevin Davies to team up with Heather Davies.

Managing Director Neil Stones said.  “After the MBO we wanted to continue investing in new plant and generate further ‘added value’ for our customers.”

It became clear”, explained Stones “that we needed to enter the Digital market to meet the increased demand we were seeing for short run and fast turnaround work”. “With the help of a trusted supplier, Mayday Graphic Products, we chose the Xerox 700 as the most suitable purchase to compliment our current set up.

“The installation went without a hitch and, it is great to know that we can set our own schedule and offer a wide variety of high quality printed and finished items to our customers, quickly and, more importantly cost effectively,” he added.

Heather Davies, Finance Director commented. “Mayday's experience and expertise coupled with Xerox's established products gave us real confidence buying the 700,”
Besides meeting increased demand, the 700 will enable Fuller-Davies to enter the ‘web-to-print’ market, rolling out the service later this year in partnership, with ROI, the Cambridgeshire based marketing solutions provider.

On-line print buying is something we have been watching and, wanting to get into for many years. Believing this to be the future of print and when combined with the latest personalisation software and mail merging techniques will be a powerful combination, that’s going to drive our growth strategy.”

“Many of our existing accounts have expressed their desire to move their print buying over to a web-to-print’ procurement system, and the addition of a further digital press within the next 18 months is something we are already working on to meet demand,” explained James Robinson, Sales Director.
