Mayday Graphic Products - Pressroom Products Manager

Mayday Graphic Products appoints dedicated Pressroom Products Manager.

With pressroom chemistry becoming more and more important nowadays with regards to achieving consistent print quality, along with a wide variety of manufacturers and product types to choose from, selecting the right one can, at times, be hit and miss.  So to address this and, to answer a growing number of enquiries and questions, Mayday has enlisted the help and knowledge of a long serving professional in pressroom matters, Clive Allum.

Clive joins Mayday from HDP - Hydro Dynamic Products, which was taken over by Flint Group, and brings with him not only an immense knowledge of print, but particular expertise in pressroom products and pressroom chemistry - from founts to washes, their application and correct usage and nearly everything in between.

Said Clive, "Joining a company with a good reputation for customer service and reliability and one that's more or less on my doorstep is something I didn't expect, especially with many companies making cut backs."

"So, as you can imagine, I am looking forward to making my mark on the pressroom side of things and hope to put my experience to good use."

To test Clive's knowledge we invite you, our customers and prospective customers, to submit chemistry problems you maybe experiencing in the pressroom that could be affecting print quality or, if you just want to find out if your current chemistry is up to the mark, you can contact Clive directly here!

Graham Timson, MD, Mayday Graphic Products commented,  “Pressroom sales have taken a back seat at Mayday for some years, something we should have put right a long time ago.  But, as is the case with many businesses, we’ve had other matters to contend with during the last few years.”

“With growing interest in pressroom supplies, especially on the chemistry side, Jim, our sales director, and I felt we should tackle this and seek out someone with the ability to meet the needs of our customers and, hopefully Clive will do this,” he added.

Going further, if you prefer branded products such as Fujifilm's PRESSMAX FountMax,WashMax and CoatMax, we can arrange for Fujifilm to undertake a full pressroom audit and indicate where and how its products will have maximum benefit and achieve cost savings for you.

Fujifilm's range of pressroom chemicals has been designed to optimise print quality and press performance with minimal environmental impact, a key point for printers looking to add the Environmental accreditation ISO: 14001 to their manufacturing operation.

“Well, full marks to Mayday” exclaimed Jim Dale, National Dealer Manager at Fujifilm. “We came over to see Graham and co to update them on the range of PRESSMAX products and the ongoing chemistry audit service we offer and that’s when he told us about taking on Clive. This is great news for Mayday and, as one of our larger, growing and much respected resellers, I know that this move will work very well for them.”
